What is the ARTAS Robotic Hair Transplant System?
The ARTAS Robotic Hair Transplant brings a new level of precision and accuracy to hair transplantation. Each hair is removed and transplanted individually, to provide you with natural looking results. The procedure is minimally invasive and requires no stitches. A major difference to older traditional hair transplantation is the fact that there is no risk of the tell-tale linear scar that’s associated with older transplant methods.
About the ARTAS Hair Transplant Procedure
The decision to have a hair transplant procedure is an important, life-changing decision. It’s important that you understand the details of how the ARTAS® Robotic Procedure will work, what you can expect during the procedure, and when you’ll expect to see results.
The ARTAS Robotic Hair Transplant uses hair that’s not subject to male pattern baldness, so you’ll get permanent results that last a lifetime. And since your own hair is used, you’ll get a natural looking outcome. No special care is needed for the transplanted hair; you can cut and style your hair in any way you like.
It’s a simple, single day procedure. Patients are typically awake during the procedure, watching a movie or listening to music. After the procedure, the patient is able to return home immediately. Most patients return to their usual activities within a few days.
The process starts with a thorough, detailed consultation. You will be asked about your hair loss history, and how you’d like your hair to look. The physician will examine your hair loss, and assess the amount of donor hair that you have available for transplant. From there, you’ll learn whether you’re a candidate for the ARTAS Robotic Procedure and what treatment options may be available to you.
Day of Procedure
Most ARTAS Robotic Procedures start in the morning and end in the afternoon. The patient wears comfortable clothes to the procedure, and possibly a loose-fitting hat for their ride home. Many patients choose to listen to music or watch a movie during the procedure.
During the Procedure
During the ARTAS Robotic Procedure, The patient is seated and the physician and team will do everything they can to ensure the patient’s comfort. A local anesthetic will be used, but the patient will be awake and alert during the procedure. There will be time for breaks during the procedure so that the patient can have eat or take care of personal issues.
