This is a client of Dr LeBeau’s who requested options for facial rejuvenation to achieve a rested and refreshed look with natural appearing results. Multiple non-surgical and surgical options were offered, and a mini facelift was ultimately chosen to achieve her desired results. A facelift, or rhytidectomy, involves making camouflaged incisions around the front and back of the ear and elevating some of the loose skin over the cheeks and neck. The deeper and stronger layer of the face called the fascia is then tightened with sutures and the excess skin is removed and absorbable sutures are used to close the incision lines. The entire procedure typically takes 3-4 hours and the patient is able to go home the same day. There is usually very little discomfort involved after the procedure, as most of my patients take a prescription pain medication only on the night of procedure and switch to tylenol thereafter.
The photographs above show the patient at 3 months following her procedure. Her incision lines are barely discernible and will continue to improve and become nearly invisible by one year. She is very happy with improvement in her lower face and neck and her natural, refreshed appearance. As a local business owner, she has subsequently referred many new patients as well as her husband to Dr. LeBeau for procedures.
There are many surgical and nonsurgical options for achieving rejuvenation of the face and neck, but there is no substitute for a properly performed facelift by a Facial Plastic Surgeon. To learn about your facial rejuvenation options contact our office for more information.
